Trip to Montana
The drive from Boise to Augusta, Montana was really beautiful. I really needed some wide open spaces and gentle curves to clear my mind. This is an amazing time of year in the desert.
These little wildflowers were in bloom every where we stopped.
This is on the way over Monida Pass, on the Idaho/Montana border. After so many hours and hours of the rolling desert, these snowy mountains appearing so close by where mind-blowing. I know the picture doesn't capture it.
We stayed near Helena and met up with my Mom where she was finishing up a retreat. We spent the day hiking while Mom was at her conference. This is just over the continental divide, overlooking a place that used to be called Peace Valley.
This is the back side of the resort where Mom's retreat was. Amazing restored resort on natural hot springs out in the middle of nowhere.
At Mom's house, we headed out to her "secret" wild asparagus patch and spent a few hours cutting wild asparagus.
It was windy, but warm and beautiful. And the asparagus was delicious. I've never eaten fresh, raw asparagus, but it turns out that I like it way better than cooked asparagus.
Corrie thinks that being a ranch dog is a lot of work. And he thinks this horse pad/dog bed should be his. Duke, my mom's dog, is being very gracious and ignoring Corrie's bad manners.
