Hi Shareen! I'm so happy to see you over here. Funny about our different perceptions of the PNW. I'm from the desert, and I love love love all the humidity and greenness here. Thanks for the thoughts on the cameras and the proofreading. I'm going to look into a Canon Digital Rebel. Someone I know uses one and likes it a lot, and they've been around long enough that I should be able to get a used one if I look around enough.

Sarah - I like that one also. I think it's also Preston's favorite - because of the wake behind the board, so you can see that he's really moving!

Hi Deanna, glad to read on the list this morning that you're settling down and things are going so well. I have a few comments: (1) about the camera -- I have a Sony DSC F828 - 8 mega pixels. It cost me about 1200 Canadian over 2 years ago, so I imagine it has come down in price a lot. An image broker I'm doing business with now says photographers have to shoot with 10 megapixels minimum! So, I've been researching cameras again. Also, I'm ready for something with better telephone focus and macro focus. Sounds like the same as you.

(2) Forgot what else I meant to say...oh, about the proofreading -- Many moons ago I was a proofreader for ACE paperbacks in NYC. They'd send over the galleys and I'd spend a day knocking one out. It got pretty boring in a short time, but it was good money. Anyway, you might try some of the paperback companies if you're looking for more work in this field. Maybe, check craig's list, just an idea.

(3)Those woods pictures remind me of why I left the PNW. Aggh! Wet and mold. OTOH, I remember riding horses through the woods near Humptulips, and that was an extraordinary experience. We even crossed a river at one point, the horses swimming. That was fun. Anyway, good luck on the house! I will go look at the pics now. Good on changing agents! I used to be one of those too, and hated what some were willing to do to make a sale. One of the reasons I got out of the business. Anyway, good to hear from you. ...sk
