Thank you! It’s so exciting to have an image that means something to me also create meaning for someone else. If you feel like sharing, I’d love to hear what it means to you.
This picture was taken in some old-growth cedar forest hidden behind a new housing development near where I live. It’s a magical place, and I was walking through a bit of a boggy spot when I saw a bunch of these lacy leaves all over.

Thank you DeAnna for letting me know that it was a golden-crowned kinglet I saw the other day and that’s a fascinating interpretation! I have only seen one once before and yes, they tend to fly all over the place and this one was so contemplative and calm. Perhaps it’s telling me that I need to slow down a bit, I tend to be quite stressed and buzz around the place getting stuff done.
Your writing was so insightful and helpful, it’s good to know that behaviour was completely uncharacteristic. I believe in sane magic 100%, no fear I will think you’re crazy. If you’re crazy I need to be in the looney bin!
Stunning image, once again. I’m glad I got to come back here. Your photography really resonates with me.

I really like this. There is something there with the life lines of hands and the lines of the leaf. Cool beans!

Hey Jude,
Thank you for the compliment, and I love your interpretation. I hadn’t even thought about that correlation, but now that you point it out it totally works. Thanks!

I soooo love that!

Thanks Kim! It’s funny how many responses I got to this one. It was a totally spontaneous sort of thing, not something I thought about. I suppose that it goes to show how just following your hunches usually works out better than lots of planning.
Peace!
